Hi Cidhinnia, If rubrics are working for you in combination with individualized feedback, that is great. I have found that for me, the rubric sort of takes over in the students’ mind, and it’s hard for me to get them to pay attention to the feedback. After I started giving feedback only (no grades or rubrics), a few students told me that it was the first time they ever read the comments on their essay. Previously they had only scanned the essay to see their scores.
